Alumni Reflections

Posted on Posted in Event recaps

In early May, Australian International School Hong Kong held Alumni Reunion events in Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane. Energetic crowds attended each of the three events, keen to catch up with fellow students, former teachers and friends of the school.

Reunion events continue to be a highlight of the school calendar as they allow AISHK alumni and staff to reconnect beyond the school walls. Head of School Mr Phillip Waugh said that the events were rewarding as he had the “opportunity to spend some time listening to our former students outline the milestones that they have already achieved since leaving our school. Without exception, past students both individually and together define themselves as informed, thoughtful and capable young men and women, who are part of an ever-growing and well-connected international network.”

A chance for past AISHK students to meet, sometimes for the first time, these events are also a valuable networking opportunity, opening doors to employment opportunities that may not be otherwise available, particularly for more recent AISHK graduates. It is reaffirming to see how alumni can rely on past friendships and relationships for assistance, especially while often studying and living away from family and other community support.

Our reunions remain an active networking hub not only for students, but for past and current teachers, parents and many others who are part of the AISHK family and warmly considered members of the alumni network.
